It takes a family...

Moving across the country and 1/2 an ocean seems like an insurmountable task. At times I'm overwhelmed by the length of my "to-do" list. However, slowly but surely I'm checking things off. None of this would be possible of it weren't for my family...
My sister has helped me pair down the list of things to go, stay and give away. She also has been freely volunteering her shopping services.
My mother has cleaned every room in my current place at least once & some of them multiple times.
My father, though, is the jack of trades. He has cleaned, packed, and fixed almost everything. If I ask him to do it, it gets done. He's also been to Goodwill so many times that the employees now know him by name!
But if even if they didn't do all this work for me, I'm sure gonna miss all the love and support my family give me. I hope all that travels through phone, text, email, skype, etc 😉

First things first

On October 1st I made a big decision. . . make that a HUGE decision. I decided to leave everything I know behind, pack my bags and move to Honolulu, HI.

I was offered a job a Kapiolani Women & Children's Medical Center. I will still get to do the job I love (working with children & their families), but now I will get to spend my free time in paradise. I am excited about everything this job and change of location have to offer. On the other hand, there are a lot of unknowns.

Where will I live?
How will I move my belongings?
What do I keep, what do I store, what do I give/throw away?
How will I stay in touch when I'm six time zones away?
How often will I get to see my friends and family?

Time will only tell if I made the right decision, but for now I need to focus on all the little details to make this move successful. ALOHA!
